WRHA are pleased to announce that in 2007
3 new developments were completed.
Kilmington 5 homes - Rushall 3 homes - Codford 10 homes
Development
The changes to the way projects are funded by the
Housing Corporation has meant that the Association has entered into a
development partnership with the New Futures Partnership led by the Aster Group
in order to be able to access further grant funding.
The Association will continue to work as it has done
in the past and will carry out its own developments with the Aster Group bidding
for grant and drawing down grant on our behalf through the New Futures
Partnership.
New futures

In the National Affordable Housing Programme allocations for 2006/08, New Futures has been offered grant funding of over £43m for over 1400 new homes. New Futures has the second highest programme of new homes in the south-west for these two years.
New Futures has also been appointed by the Housing Corporation as the HomeBuy agent for the north zone of the south-west region. Gloucestershire Housing Association are taking the lead responsibility for delivering this major initiative on behalf of New Futures.
Between them New Futures Partners own and manage over 26,000 homes, spend over £70 million on new developments and deliver around 800 new affordable homes a year.

Technical Days held at the New Developments
On each development a technical day was held to show interested parties the Eco Level Very Good features within the homes. People who attended these technical days were very impressed with the size and layout of the rooms.
1 - 3 The Old Barn Yard, Rushall was completed on the 16th November 2007.
A development of 3 x 3 bedroom, 5 person houses on a redundant farmyard site as part of an open market development of 6 houses and 1 live/work house. These homes complement the 8 homes we already own in the village at Cherry Orchard.
Properties were let through the Homes@kennet Choice Based Lettings Scheme.
1 - 10 Church Acre, Codford was completed on the 14th December 2007.
A development of 6 x 2 bedroom, 3 person houses and 4 x 2 bedroom, 4 person houses on a privately owned site. These homes complement the 6 elderly persons bungalows we already own in the village at Cherry Orchard.
All properties have been let through the Homes4westwilts Choice Based Lettings Scheme for people with a local connection to the village.
The Opening Ceremony at Church Acre, Codford was officially opened by Mr David Or from the National Housing Federation on the 31st January 2008.

1 - 5 Quince Close, Kilmington was completed 14th September 2007.
A development of 2 x 2 bedroom, 3 person houses, 2 x 2 bedroom, 4 person houses and 1 x 3 bedroom, 5 person house on a Salisbury District Council owned site.
The Opening Ceremony at Quince Close, Kilmington on the 6th November 2007, went off extremely well with everyone being impressed.
Mr Andrew Wiles from the Housing Corporation gave a speech to everyone attending, congratulating Wiltshire Rural Housing Association on another successful development.
As the development is named Quince Close, it seemed fitting to plant a Quince tree.
