Age Concern & Help the Aged are now Age UK
Age UK is another organisation that has many very useful and important service for the elderly.
They provide you with help and advice on a broad range of topics including housing, income and pensions, health, consumer issues, end of life and many others.
Their website at www.ageuk.org.uk is packed with loads of great information. They can help you check your benefits, check on a particular care home and offer help with how to deal with bogus callers. Age UK advice line: 0800 169 6565
The local Wiltshire website at www.ageconcernwiltshire.org.uk this site offers similar help and support as the national one including help with gardening and a nail cutting service! These are at very reasonable cost. They also have a full list of approved contractors, covering a full range of trades to help you with small jobs in the home or garden

Some of you may be familiar with the Ridgeway Lifeline call pendant system designed to give you peace of mind all the time to help you live safely in your own home by calling a keyholder in the event of an emergency.
In fact Ridgeway Lifeline is just one of a group of services that Ridgeway provide.

Any of their services are available for you to use as and when you have a need and this information is given here to make you aware of Ridgeway and all the high quality services that they provide to older or infirm people.
Ridgeway Community Housing Association
Ridgeway Community Housing Association provides high quality homes for older residents who need extra care and support.
These are ‘extra care’ housing schemes where you will have your own home that has 24 hr care provided to it.

Ridgeway Care & Repair
Ridgeway Care & Repair is there to help you keep your independence. They provide a full service of simple to complex adaptations and home improvements. One way some of you will have come into contact with them is when there has been an in home assessment by an Occupational Therapist and a recommendation has been made to fit a walk in shower for example. They may well have done the work.
Anyone can contact them and seek their expertise on improvements and adaptations to assist with remaining in your home. They will give all the relevant advice and guidance to help you achieve this and will do any work you may require that is not covered by an assessment.

Ridgeway Care
Ridgeway Care provides a service that you can depend on by providing high quality personal and domestic care in your home. These services include personal care, meal preparation, respite care, housekeeping, shopping, prescription collection and other services all designed to help you stay in your home.
Their services can be used for short or longer periods, whatever is needed for your particular needs.

Ridgeway Lifeline
Ridgeway Lifeline will give a round the clock service to keep you safe and sound in your own home.
It will reassure you and your family and friends that when you need help immediately that help will come.
The pendant allows you to summon help from anywhere in your home or close proximity.
When you call they know who you are where you are and who to contact in an emergency. You establish who to call. The keyholders would be family or someone you know who can respond in an emergency.
The cost is very modest and all you will need in your home is a telephone socket, an electricity socket.
